Opera North, Gala Opera, "Carmen"

A display of Hull Silver including City Silver, Holy Trinity Silver, Trinity House Silver and Silver from the University of Hull. Much of the Silver to be included is normally only in use for ceremonial purposes and is seen by very few people. This display will be the first opportunity that the general public will have to see the Silver in over 45 years and the first time it has all been brought together.

The original 700-year-old Charter of 1299, granting the status of King's Town to Hull by Edward I will be on display in the Ferens.

Medieval music with Peter Bull on Saturday 20th March. Half hour performances at 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm. Performance of Medieval music using a lute, hurdy gurdy, dulcimer and recorder.

Crafts to include, the making of a Hobby - Horse to be used on market day at the Hobby-Horse jousting tournament. Making of a May Pole with decorations. Coins to coincide with first coins minted and coin bags/ purses. Making of shop counters/ stalls etc. Making of Bows and Arrows - outlaws to take something from craft session and hide it ready for a "search" on market day.
